What exactly do you do at Mind and Body Counseling Associates?

Simply put, one of our licensed clinicians will talk with you about the things that are worrying you.  From there they will develop strategies tailored to fit your needs to help you overcome any difficulties.

What kind of treatment will I receive?

Depending on the nature of your issues or stressors being treated, psychotherapy or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) may be recommended. Usually, simply talking individually to a therapist is the answer.

We will work with you to determine the best method to fit your specific needs.

Does therapy for mental and emotional problems always work?

Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't. It primarily depends on you and the therapist. It is important to share your concerns in a serious, sincere, and open manner. Only if you are completely honest and open can you expect to receive the best support and guidance.

What if I give therapy a try and I still don't feel comfortable?

There should be a good "vibe" between you and the therapist you choose. Sometimes, someone else may be more suitable for your personality. Don't give up on therapy, let us find the perfect therapist to fit your needs.

Does what I discuss in therapy remain confidential?

Confidentiality is basic to therapy, and the patient has the right to control access to information about their treatment. Professional association guidelines plus federal and state laws underscore the importance of confidentiality in therapist-client relationships and govern the release of records.

For the safety of yourself and others, there are some emergency situations where confidentiality can be breached. If this concerns you, please contact us for more detailed information.

Is therapy covered by my health insurance?

Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Call the number on the back of your insurance card to find out what Mental Health benefits are covered and if our providers are in-network.

If you're visit isn't covered by insurance, our therapists offer various cash pay rates. For more information on rates and insurance please click here.

Why do you require a credit card to make an appointment?

We value our therapists and their time very highly, which is why we have a strict cancellation policy. In order to serve as many people as we can, we require 24 hour notice for any and all cancellations. This gives us some time to fill that slot so others who are waiting to be seen have an opportunity. If we don't hear from you within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, or if you "no-show" we will charge the card on file.

If you have further questions about our office policies please click here to view them. Thank you for your understanding.
